Statement of Faith
I have taken hold of the eternal life to which I was called when I made my good confession in the presence of many witnesses. [i]   At the age of 18, I was baptized as an expression of my faith in Jesus. I believe that he “died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and then appeared to many witnesses,” 1 Cor 15:3-6.
I believe the good news that Peter preached, Acts 2:14-41, and that Paul preached 1 Cor 15:1-11. I believe we are to depend on the Holy Spirit who conforms us to the character of Jesus, (fruit of the Spirit-Gal 5:16-26) and who equips us with the power of God, (gifts of the Spirit- Rom 12:6-21, 1 Cor 12:1-13, Eph 4:7-13).
I believe “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work,” 2 Tim 16-17. Scripture is to be the standard by which all doctrine and creeds, people and ministries, rulers and ruled are to be measured.
May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Heb 13:20-21
